Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?
Jester bonds with all of the close people in her life to the point that she misses all of them. They're best friends, they're family, she loves all of them. The argument could go for Fjord, whom she loves. It's a different love for Fjord, versus the love for her friends and her mother. This is the love she's read about in stories, the love that her mother's told her about, the love that she's dreamed about. But then she'll miss her mother as well, the person who has always been there for her and supported her, even when she was in trouble. She idolizes her mother. Then there's the rest of the Nein: Beau, Yasha, Caleb, Veth, Caduceus, Essek - all have important places in her heart. They all show her a different aspect of life she had never seen before.
But for her to miss just one person? She couldn't choose. It would be like choosing which star in the sky was her favorite.
2. What are they most afraid of?
Being alone. Jester thrives in places where she's surrounded by people, whether it's friends or family or even strangers. She thrives on that energy. There's a point in her adventures that she, Fjord, and Yasha get kidnapped by a group called the Iron Shepherds. The entire time, Jester kept reaching out for the Traveler to come help her. Once rescued by her friends, Jester seemed fine, but all she could think of was why didn't he (the Traveler) come to save her, like he always had before. She doesn't like to show it to others.
3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?
Physically, it's relying too much on the magic she's received from being a cleric of the Traveler. She heavily relies on it to send messages, to protect herself and her friends, and to even heal them. She has yet to really realize this, still thinking that he'll always be there for her.
Mentally, she's naive. She was sheltered for most of her life, literally. Her mother was a courtesan, and Jester was locked away by her mother so she would be protected from the outside world. Her first real foray into the outside world was when she left Nicodranas and met Fjord. There are sometimes where she doesn't understand the consequences of her actions, and she doesn't understand that the world is much bigger than she thinks it is. She starts understanding more as her adventures go on, but even after it all, there is still that small part of her that believes the world is all sunshine and rainbows.
Emotionally, she doesn't handle deep emotions well. She can't handle being alone. She doesn't like being sad. She uses humor and mirth to cover the deeper emotions she has, especially when they're affecting her. She puts on a brave mask for the others to see, but her friends know that this is all an act.
4. What would make them happiest?
Always being surrounded by friends and family. Jester's ultimately an extrovert, and she likes being surrounded by the people she loves. She wants everyone to be happy, and she will do whatever is in her power to make them happy. Her favorite times are when they're all hanging out, whether it's drinking or dancing or just having mindless fun.
5. What’s their type for a lover?
Jester would want your typical storybook romance - someone tall, dark, and dashing, someone who would rescue her from some dastardly evil. Someone to sweep her off her feet, shirt billowing open to show rippling muscles, tight leather pants. She'd say that while tightly gripping her copy of Tusk Love, or another trashy romance.
But she also wants someone who's going to support and be there for her, to understand the type of person she is deep down. Someone who will be her ride or die, who loves her for being such a goober and puts up with her shenanigans. She found that in Fjord.
